Secret Sandwich |
| Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks. |

| W7 Run-off Suspense...Decelles Beats Blais |
| Tuesday, March 21, 2006 |
I just got off the phone with Lori at the Clerk’s office. As of 6:00pm there have been 635 ballots cast at Hunt School and 111 absentees have come in. She expects we’ll know the winner by eight PM.
Right before that I stopped at Hunt and voted myself. Ellie was all alone with Republicans swimming all around her like sharks. She was basically hanging out with Decelles. It's just my after-work mental snapshot of the whole thing, but after-work is prime-time and it was looking pretty good for Paul in that snapshot. I gave Ellie a nice hug and went in and voted for her.
When I came out I shook hands with Paul and said it was nice to meet him. He said he liked my website. I didn’t see any Democrats, unless Leo Grennen is a Dem (I never thought about it.) I saw him and Kurt talking on the way out. I told Kurt how good he looked in that picture over on Politics VT Today. Leo said Kurt was “Number One.”
Rather than create a new post, I’ll just leave a blank space here to report the results. [ Ward 7 Run-off City Council Election Results To Be Announced Here.]* Politics is fun.
*7:45pm: No Result *8:10pm: No Result *8:41pm: Lori tells me it's 451 for Paul, 382 Ellie
Congratulations Councilor-Elect Decelles!
I'll venture an educated guess and say he'll probably be the youngest member of the council, followed I think by Ashe and George. Ward Seven has a relatively older population, yet its council representation will now be the youngest.
Some Quick Stats: 1818 W7 voters cast ballots for council on Town Meeting Day 3/7. 833 W7 voter cast ballots today 3/21. Today's turn out was 45.8 percent of 3/7's turnout. Candidate Totals on 3/7: Decelles 713, Blais 534 Candidate Totals on 3/21: Decelles 451 (71% of original total), Blais 382 (63% of original total)
I guess JR Ewing's endorsement isn't what it used to be (unless you're talking about the owner of Ewing Place in Essex.) Don't feel bad, JR. It happened to Peter Clavelle this year too.
Seriously folks, I voted for Ellie and I had the JR graphic so I used it- But when I said "anybody but Cole," I meant it. Decelles was a good campaigner and he'll probably be a fine councilor. Plus it won't hurt my attendance any having someone closer to my own age at NPA meetings.
Ellie- you've done a fine job and have nothing to be ashamed of. The candidate who can win with an (I) next to her name is rare. You did it and should be proud. Thanks for your service. I wouldn't be surprised to see your name on a ballot again soon, but for now you should enjoy any respite you earn by passing the torch. You've earned it. |
