Secret Sandwich |
| Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks. |

Hey Burlington Pol website! I've been seeing alot of adds about this Tarrant character on the Tv and radio and stuff. I think he's got alot of experiece with politics and stuff. I like that. Questions for Haik: 1. have you heard of this guy? 2. What do you think of him?
Thanks!!
p.s. I think politics are really important too!
-
Mr. Potato face,
Those are very important questions. And if I had to vote today, and knowing what we know now, what kinds of questions would we be asking? I would certainly have to thank you for writing in, among others, until every single one of us has a clear stand on what is finally a very confusing topic for understanding, without fear of favor, so help me Rhonda.

I wonder why nobody has commented on the colors that Tarrant chose for his sign.
Tarrant's favorite color is GOLD, which represents his entire career of acquiring wealth. His other color is RED, which represents the fact that he wants Vermont to become a RED state.
Every time you see a Tarrant sign, think of the GOLD and the RED, and ask yourself if that really represents Vermont.
-
I thought that it was yellow and red like McDonalds -- as in, Tarrant is a bigger clown than Ronald McDonald.
-
When I ran for city council in 1995, I brought up the idea of using yellow and black, because of their eye catching contrast. The campaign team of progressives assigned to my case talked me out of it. They advised that yellow is the color of both urine and fear, and is rarely used by winning campaigns. Oh shit- didn't Clavelle use yellow against Douglas? That's weird.
Red and White are the best for a campaign. They represent guts and glory, respectively. Blue works, but it lacks gravitas. Green is fine if you're a Green, but otherwise, not so much. We've already talked about yellow.
-
i like purple with neon green.
-
-
I like aubergine and chartreuse on a steel blue background.
Any candidate that uses those colors on a campaign sign deserves to win -- issues be damned.
-
Hi Haik,
Here is some information on Tarrant.
Earlier this year, he had a meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire. He flew on a very fancy private plane from Manchester to Burlington. He had a "car service" pick him up at the airport and drop him two blocks away from the location of one of his spaghetti dinners, so that nobody would see him in a limo. Then he walked the last two blocks, so that he would appear to be one of the "common folk". That's the name that Tarrant gives to the people who attended his spaghetti dinners. He calls them "common folk".
It's time that people learned about Tarrant's arrogance.

I'd bet Bernie's been in a private plane before, at some point in time. I have and I'm not even a millionare.
As for Rich, and this is absolutely true, one night, last winter, I was walking near City Hall when I ran into Rich, walking near Nectar's. I asked him, "Where you headed?" He told me it was a campaign event for Democratic Party Leaders. Yep, that's right, no limo, no servants, just Rich, walking like the rest of us.
How bout that?
