Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

"I don't want to be a part of this story." -Peter Clavelle
So Joe McNeil was getting freaky with Owiso Makuku AND Karen Wingate??
Judge Grearson writes:
"Having reviewed all of the sealed e-mails in camera, the court concludes as follows, for the public record: (i) the content of the sealed e-mails between Attorney McNeil and Ms. Makuku would lead a reasonable person to believe that the two had been involved in a close personal relationship of a romantic nature for an extended period of time during which Attorney McNeil was City Attorney and Ms. Makuku was a consultant on the zoning project; and (2) the content of the sealed e-mails between Attorney McNeil and Ms. Wingate would lead a reasonable person to believe that the two had been involved in a close personal relationship of a romantic nature for an extended period of time during which Attorney McNeil was City Attorney and during at least part of which Ms. Wingate was interim chief administrative officer.
Nothing in the record suggests that any of the three of them took any significant steps to mitigate any conflicts of interest related to these relationships by, for instance, avoiding activities that were affected by the conflicts. Nothing in the record suggests that any other City officials knew of the relationships but if any did, nothing in the record suggests that any of them took any significant steps to mitigate the conflicts either."
Yeah, I saw that too. My guess (hope), is that the BFP didn't mean to imply that, but the way it was written sure sounded goofy. I think they meant that there are emails between Joe and Wingate re: this issue, and they're also not going to be released. But again, that could be wishful thinking.
Bummer. I've known Joe for a long time. Only known him to be a good, decent guy. And while I know many would consider such action a direct negation of such a characterization, I stand by it. We all screw up. Not to dismiss or overlook the seriousness of this. Not at all.
Certainly, his family must be having a hell of a time with this.
I like Joe McNeil too. He told me politics was in my blood. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. He's a good lawyer and a nice guy too.
But wrong is wrong. McNeil was signing Makuku's time cards and sleeping with her at the same time. And she made a lot of money.
I thought it couldn't look any worse, but now that we learn about Wingate, I guess I was wrong.
Having been city attorney for almost 40 years, Joe saw scores of city councilors come and go and maybe a half-dozen mayors. Who would have ever stepped to him? You get a lot of deference when you know where all the bodies are buried. That kind of thing can go to a person's head.
