Chip Mason Running for Council
William A. Mason IV, or “Chip” Mason an attorney at Gravel and Shea, and an occasional commenter at this blog, told me by email today that he will be seeking the Ward Five Democratic nomination for city council at the party’s ward caucus January 17th, 6pm at Champlain Elementary School. He did not say whether this meant incumbent Democrat and city council president Bill Keogh who’s up for re-election, is stepping down.

Why the quotes around his name? Let me guess – you think he’s like Miro and can’t understand the working class.
Hi Haik, Yes, Bill Keogh is not running again. Please join me in thanking him for his service. He given much to Vermont.
Good catch Hurston. Terrible segue. I meant to put quotes around the nickname only as it’s normally done. I considered ‘William A. “Chip” Mason IV,’ but the “IV” kind of screws that up. It seems impossible that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather would have all also been nicknamed Chip.
Carmen, I totally do join you in thanking Bill for his service. He was on the council when I was there and that was seventeen years ago. I don’t know if he’s been on contiuously since then, but he’s definitely served a long time.
Thank you for your service Bill Keogh!
Can we get a background on Chip Mason? Do you know anything about him?
He’s an active participant at this blog and I went to second grade with his brother. That’s most of what I know. My impression is he’s a fine fellow. I’m sure he’ll tell us about himself in the campaign.
