Media Bias vs. Wanda Hines

On the Day Wanda Hines announces for mayor…

The Burlington Free Press Website does not have the story present, but they do have a HUGE picture of Peter Clavelle endorsing Weinberger.

WPTZ has a story up titled Miro (6.5 for Miro, 5.5 for  Kurt).

WCAX has Will Burlington’s Next Mayor Inherit Some Old Problems? Excellent question WCAX.  On the surface this piece appears to be critical of Miro Weinberger, but there are 40 lines of text devoted to Miro, 2 lines to Kurt and 2 lines to Wanda.

For more information see Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky.

Haik, I count 9 lines for Miro in the WCAX article.

There was a very large, wonderfully written front page story with a photo of Wanda running when she announced that she was considering candidacy, which really stood out as something unique. I don’t know if Karen Paul would have gotten that kind of coverage, or anyone else. I don’t see bias.

Wanda does not have a chance. The race is between Kurt and Miro.

Why wasn’t the local TV there? HOw about that Vt. Digger. They cover every move of the other candidates? It may not be bias, but it’s ridiculous. The stroy on channel 5 didn’t even have a picture of Hines, say nothing about an interview.

Todays Freeps has an article along with an 8 photo spread……of the opening of that new burger joint in South Burlington. I guess 7 photos would have shown a lack of transparency.
