Burlington Police Patch Poll

Breaking Update:
Poll Cancelled for Suspected Voter Fraud
Results Invalidated

The graphic above represents the vote percentages at the point the poll was cancelled. If you didn't get a chance to vote, I'm sorry. The poll ran for fewer than 24 hours. I don't want to get into specifics about the actual number of votes that came in, but it was 19 total, with 12 in favor of our beloved old patch and 7 in favor of the proposed change.

The poll was set to allow one vote per IP address per year. I put the poll post up Saturday and as I assumed would be the case, the score quickly shot up to 10 to 1 in favor of the old patch, which so clearly represents the spirit of Burlington much, much better than the proposed change.

Over the course of Sunday morning the number of votes to change the patch shot up from 1 to 7 during which time there were four separate visits to this page, referred here by facebook, that came from what appeared to be anonymous proxy servers representing an "unknown organization." Based on this I think as many as 5 of the votes to change the patch may have come from the same person hiding his or her IP address. Poll cancelled. Results invalided. Management apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused.

The good news is that under the terms of my disclaimer you are entitled to triple your money back.
