Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

Political Earthquake Rocks America
Wednesday, February 22, 2006
My car radio is usually locked on 1390 WVAA AM. So last night I was dutifully picking up a "Love Boat" from Koto for my sushi-lovin' wife, listening to Randi Rhodes talk about Bush's sellout of our seaports to the UAE. I know there's pan-spectral outrage on this, so I decided to flip over to 620 AM to hear what the other side was saying about it. As luck would have it I caught the opening of Michael Savage on 620 AM. He was freaking out about it too, and, amazingly, praising Chuck Schumer for working to stop the deal. When Randi Rhodes and Michael Savage are both freaking out on the same side of the same issue at the same time, it's an earthquake.
So I'm on my way to work this morning, and because my car radio is still tuned to 620 AM, I'm lucky enough to catch Peter Clavelle's last appearance on the "Charlie and Ernie Show" as mayor. Joining him on the program was Plattsburgh mayor Dan Stewart, Kurt Wright, Dick Mazza and others. I guess Bernie and Howard Dean had called in earlier. I caught Peter Freyne and Ray ("The Real Moonie") Clavelle's calls into the show. Very good, bittersweet goodbye stuff, there.
And just as I was thinking about the ports story, and how it caused me to catch Clavelle's appearance, good old Paul Harvey came on and started talking about the uproar. He joked about Bush walking into this firestorm. "As one friend said of another while watching him step in front of a moving train," Harvey mused, "He must know what he's doing."
Thomas Friedman's piece in the Times today presented the other side of the port story. Seems like plenty of more worthy things to concentrate on...you know, wiretapping, obstruction of justice, civil war in Iraq.
