Secret Sandwich
Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce, a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down. The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa! Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

Douglas Campaign Push Polling
Sunday, July 13, 2008
Today I did a phone survey on my landline administered by a caller from Promark Research Corporation. It was obviously a push poll for Douglas and against Symington. With questions like "If you knew Symington supported early release for convicted pedophiles, would you be more or less likely to vote for her?" and "If you knew Douglas opposed tax increases..." etc.

I kept telling the caller what a ridiculous push poll it was, and he cracked up a couple of times. I ended the call by wishing him luck finding a better job.

It's surprising Douglas would worry about Symington much less introduce her to 400 people who didn't know she existed.

    Douglas is a slime ball.

1st point is both amusing and worth thinking about. The 2nd is wasted space. "Slime ball"? Really? What, exactly, is the point of posting such nonsense? It certainly won't change votes. Articulate a bit, eh? Or, take your graffiti elsewhere. Haik does a good job of raising issues and fostering good discussion. Crap like that is an insult to what goes on here. Although, Haik's general good nature might support your right too post uselessness. I on the other hand, do not.

Now, enough of that. On to actual content. What are voters to think of a legislator who blames the governor for not getting enough done while in office? Is it not the job of the legislature to enact laws to get things done? It seems a precarious perch on which to rest one's campaign. Thoughts?

That has got to be the lamest and weakest attempt to change the subject I've ever seen. Keep trying.

Poopsie's Unbelievable Grape Leaf Lamb Dolmas Recipe...

    Mix:
2 containers of fresh ground lamb.
    1 bunch of chopped cilantro
    3/4 cup of any rice
    1 teaspoon of salt
    1/2 teaspoon of pepper
    3-4 gloves of diced garlic
    1 med. onion diced
    2 tablespoon of tomato paste
mint optional (it wasn't in the one's at the BBQ)

prep your leaves by runing it under hot water for 5 min., or boiling in a pot for a couple of minutes. you rid of the salt and soften the leaf that way (you could also use fresh leaves, if available).

lay down the grape leaf (smooth side down) on a flat surface. place a tablespoon of meat in the middle of the leaf. neatly wrap the meat in the leaf. make sure the finished product is tight and neat, and meat is not sticking out. don't put too much meat, or you'll have a hard time wrapping it. if you have run out of leaves, just cook the meat as is. shape it into a ball and put it in the pot.

TIP: when you put all the dolmas in the pot, place a ceramic plate upside down on top of the dolmas, and gently pour cold water covering dolmas. cook at high heat, 25-30 minutes, until rice is cooked to your liking.

REMEMBER, you can put other ingedients, or put less or more of the listed ingredients.

some people prefer no tomato paste, others include olive oil in the meat mix.

have fun, and make sure you don't overcook it. rice is a good indicator when dolma is ready.
    BON APPETIT!
