Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

Marrisa Caldwell Press Release
Wednesday, January 14, 2009
Thanks to Ivan for passing this on (from 01.13.09)
******* MARRISA CALDWELL SEEKS WARD 3 CITY COUNCIL SEAT
School Commissioner Marrisa Caldwell announced today that she is seeking the City Council seat being vacated by Tim Ashe, who was elected in November to serve in the Vermont Senate.
Over the last five years, Caldwell has worked tirelessly for the residents of Ward 3 and for all of Burlington's children. As chair of the school board's policy and advocacy committee, she has been a leader on livable wages and more recently on improving faculty and staff diversity. She worked with parents, educators and the community to keep Lawrence Barnes Elementary School open, and she has worked to expand preschool and to keep class sizes small. Her efforts led to the Spanish language program in all Burlington elementary schools and the return of the middle school strings program.
Caldwell has served on the finance committee of the school board for three years, on the mayor's task force on afterschool care, and she was elected by the Wards 2 & 3 neighborhood planning assembly to the community development block grant board.
"I will bridge the divide between the school district and the city council, bringing many years of fiscal oversight to my role as a city councilor. My priorities for the City Council are creating affordable housing, supporting small business development, making our streets safe for pedestrians and cyclists, finding efficiencies in city government and delivering high quality city services without relying on an increased property tax."
Caldwell works in the Office of Primary Care at UVM's College of Medicine. A graduate of Vermont College, she holds a degree in psychology with a focus on social movements and health care policy.
A native of Fairlee and a life-long Vermonter, Marrisa Caldwell lives at 204 Park Street with her three children, Alex, Rowen and Pete, and her partner, David Kreindler.
You should be aware of these facts about Ms. Caldwell before making a decision for Ward 3 City Councilor:
Is Ms. Caldwell really representative of Ward 3?
1. A search of the Burlington property database shows that Ms. Caldwell does not own property in Ward 3. 2. Ms. Caldwell's children go to school at Champlain Elementary, in Ward 5, not in Ward 3. Decisions she makes for her Ward do not even affect her own children. Do you want her making decisions for our Ward when that's not where her (presumably) most important interests lie?
Does Ms. Caldwell actually want to control costs?
1. Ms. Caldwell's record on the school board is for voting for a budget increase of 10% last year and 9% this year. 2. Ms. Caldwell's specific ideas for the city all include increasing costs: - universal health care - more affordable housing - mass transit - taking on debt to buy renewable energy
Ms. Caldwell has no specific ideas on how to reduce costs elsewhere in order to pay for these lofty (and super expensive) ambitions. We need leaders who live in our economic reality and care about how we can afford to pay our taxes. Who is going to pay for universal health care, affordable housing, and mass transit, and renewable energy? Evidently not Ms. Caldwell, who is does not even own property in Burlington.
Please take a look at the Web site of David Cain's opponent, Marrisa Caldwell. You will see that all Marrisa's ides
for Burlington are about spending taxpayer money, with no ideas on how to save taxpayer money. How in the world
are we taxpayers supposed to support all Marrisa's ideas during a time of economic crisis? Her platform is a
recipe for us to be forced out of our homes. Renters will not be spared either - landlords will raise rents to pass on
Marrisa's tax hikes to their tenants.
Yikes!
Here are quotes directly from her Web site, with links.
"I will push for universal health care until we have it." - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/healthcare Where will the money come from for universal health care? Who pays for it? That's a huge expense.
"I will support City programs and policies that make it easier for property owners to rehab and weatherize their
buildings and make that housing safety codes are strongly enforced." - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/housing Who pays for this weatherization?
"I will advocate for continued support of the nonprofit housing groups and programs that help people keep their
homes and educate people about homeownership before they buy." - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/housing Who pays to help keep other people in their homes?
"Work to create more affordable housing, both rental and owner-occupied" - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/issues Who pays for this?
"support neighborhood schools" - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/issues Who pays to keep these schools open, when consolidation saves money?
